Family Comedy in Rossmore.
On Thurs 9th, Fri 10th and Sun 12th September the local Kilmeen Drama Group will present “I Do Not Like Thee, Dr. Fell” by Bernard Farrell in St. Marys Theatre, Rossmore at 8.30pm. This is great Comedy in this family show. It is funny, gripping and highly entertaining.
Six people gather together in a locked room for Encounter Therapy that promises to probe their lives. They get more than they bargain for when the mysterious Joe Fell exposes their real social and sexual secrets. A Great send up on American Group Therapy. The fabulous Crystal Swing will be in St Mary’s Theatre on Friday, 22nd October.
Mary, Derek and Dervla have been performing on a professional level for almost three years as a family group. Each member of the band offer their own unique style of performance and entertainment. The band has recorded two very successful CD’s, Sweet Dreams in 2007 and The Best Years of Our Lives in 2009. Both albums have received tremendous airplay on all the radio stations.
Mary has been on stage since her childhood and is a great inspiration to her son and daughter. Keyboardist, vocalist, Mary insists on good performance and good sound. Together with Derek and Dervla she makes Crystal Swing synonymous with fantastic professional entertainment.
Derek now the lead singer with the band, is also an accomplished guitarist. He has a great love of the showband era and takes his inspiration from legendary performers such as Brendan Bowyer, Brendan O’ Brien and many more successful artists of that time.
A rockin roller at heart, he adds a comedic element to his entertaining performance.
Dervla, has a unique Country and Western singing voice and a sparkling stage presence.
Since they put their video up on You Tube the band has become an international hit, their website and You Tube videos attracting tens of thousands of hits per day from across the globe. While twitter, facebook and other social networking sites are all in animated discussion about the band. The band has also ben a hot topic on both national and local radio and press, while two appearances on Ireland’s flagship TV programme RTE’s Late Late show and many more TV shows, radio shows and national newspapers have given the band
tremendous exposure. The Hucklebuck single has reached NO.1 in the Irish charts.
